Md. Akhter Hossain Miajee has had an outstanding career in the garments industry as well as in accounts, finance, costing, and auditing, spanning various sectors. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and a member of the Dhaka Taxes Bar Association (DTBA).

Mr. Md. Akhter Hossain Miajee has over 15 years of experience in the corporate world. From the beginning of his career, he has engaged with various organizations, working in multiple capacities. He has experience in both national and multinational companies, including public and private organizations.

His professional career began at Ahmed Mashuque Chartered Accountants (AMC), where he served as Assistant Manager in Audit & Advisory Services, achieving exemplary success in accounting and audit practices.

He then joined Joy Group as Assistant General Manager – Accounts & Finance. Joy Group is a leading conglomerate in Bangladesh, involved in diverse sectors such as jute mills, feed mills, hatcheries, shrimp culture, flour mills, petroleum, bricks, and other enterprises.

Subsequently, he joined Montrims Limited as Assistant General Manager – Cost & Budgets. Montrims Limited, a concern of the Mondol Group, was established in 2003 to provide backward linkage support to the country’s bustling export-oriented garments industry, producing a wide range of products including sewing threads, narrow fabrics, RFID, woven labels, jacquard and normal elastic, offset printing, cartons, and more.

Mr. Miajee later became Chief Executive Director of Arian Socks Industries Ltd, a leading hosiery and sock supplier that is 100% export-oriented and dedicated to delivering superior products and services to its valued clients.

Currently, he serves as Principal & CEO of Akhter & Co. Cost & Management Accountants and is a consultant for M M Hannan & Co., Chartered Accountants. He is enlisted as one of the panel auditors for the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) and the MicroCredit Regulatory Authority (MRA). Mr. Akhter is engaged in various services, including audit, income tax, VAT and customs, feasibility studies, project profiles, business valuation, financial advising, budgeting, accounts management, certification of corporate governance, business formation, RJSC matters, HR services, foreign loans/UPAS, inventory management, company finance restructuring, and pre-IPO work. He also serves as an advisor for various companies.

In addition, Mr. Akhter is a part-time teacher and invigilator at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), the national body for professional cost and management accountants in the country.

Mr. Akhter served as treasurer of the Peoples Welfare Organization, a national non-profit established in 1976 by the late honorable ex-president Mr. Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury & Professor Abdul Karim FCMA, which primarily focuses on education, health, water, medical camps, winter clothing distribution, child and youth development, and food and nutrition.

He holds a Master's degree in Accounting with first-class honors and is a qualified Cost & Management Accountant from ICMAB. Mr. Akhter has traveled extensively to countries including India, Nepal, Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. He was born in 1983 into a Muslim family in Chandpur District.
